GoCheap Motorhomes started in Tasmania but has since expanded nationwide, partnering with Cruisin' Motorhomes and sharing depots across Hobart, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns and Perth. They take on the older models — 4 to 7 years old — from their sister company.

GoCheap has been operating since 1999. Their fleet caters to couples, small families, and large groups up to 6. As a sister company to Cruisin', the newer vehicles go to Cruisin' while GoCheap acquires these models when they are 4 to 7 years old. GoCheap also offers a price match promise: find the same unit cheaper elsewhere and they'll beat it. Plus, discounts apply for long hires.

It is quite common for campervan hire companies to hand their older models to a different brand: Apollo Campers hands down its older models to Cheapa Campa, Britz to Mighty Campers, Jucy hands down to Lucky Rentals, and Cruisin' to GoCheap. It just means the campervans aren't new enough to represent the premium brand, but they aren't ready for the scrap yard either. GoCheap supplies 2 berth, 4 berth, and 6 berth campervans and motorhomes sourced from their sister brand. All bedding is included — doonas (duvets), sheets, and pillows — so you won't need a sleeping bag. Child seats and booster seats can be fitted in select vehicles, making GoCheap a practical choice for travelling families.

GoCheap Motorhomes' standard liability is $3,000 for their Hi Top and $5,000 for the remaining vehicles. The liability bond is held on credit card at the time of rental, with an administration fee of $100. To reduce liability to $0, you pay $29/day (Hi Top) or $45/day (other vehicles). There's also a Maximum Cover Package at $55/day that includes extras such as camping table and chairs, GPS, LPG, and a child seat if needed.
